What was your biggest accomplishment this year? I love to celebrate both the big and small wins, so please share away.

I've never been able to stick with an exercise plan until this year. I credit my Apple Watch for motivating me to close my activity rings. I usually exercise in the morning before work. I've found that the dance fitness activities are interesting enough to keep me from being bored. If I don't feel like getting up early, I make sure to go walking after work, so I can meet my goals and close my activity rings. I exercise for at least 30-minutes daily, which is what my doctor recommended. Unfortunately, I still can't say that I love fitness, but this is enough to keep me healthy and it's something that I've been able to stick with for an entire year.

What's made you feel grateful recently? I've just returned from running, and I'm feeling so grateful for the body that I have. As I age, I'm becoming more aware of how health and mobility have to be maintained. So, I'm grateful for feet and legs that get me where I need to go, a mind that allows me to work and be productive, and a spirit that's still filled with energy. Life is good.

Do you still go out to watch movies? I stopped wondering about what's playing at my local theater, and I'm starting to wonder if these places have already been going the way of video rental stores. What do you think?

If funds and taking time off from work weren't issues, where would you like to go? I would love to visit at least one city in six of the seven continents (the cruise that goes to Antarctica doesn't appeal to me).

I can watch YouTube shorts for a long, long time. They're my equivalent of flipping through random magazines at the store or at the dentist's office.

Right now, the algorithm is sending me clips of meals that people buy at Asian 7-Elevens, cute animals, and finance tips. What kinds of shorts are you clicking through?

Being aware that I'm the toxic one makes me think that I should just let go of the person. It's quite a difficult choice. I feel so guilty, yet can't help my worries. I want to improve and become more calm in my relationship. But even with that thought, it's so hard to start. I end up damaging my partner with my assumptions. I don't know what to say. I feel like my apologies are becoming worthless because I'm unable to solve my issue. Is this a phase? Will things get better? How do you start dealing with something so heavy?

I didn't know how difficult it was to deal with my trust issues until I've become closer to another person again. Jumping to conclusions has become a defense mechanism, and making assumptions to prevent any damage from expecting peace again. For a long time, I was alone and believed that people were mere passers-by. I find it really difficult to change this mindset. It feels like one happy moment, and the risk of getting destroyed becomes present. How do you trust?

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy some ice cream (but if you ask me, anytime is a good time for ice cream!). What is your favorite flavor?

I love plain vanilla ice cream because I can share it with my cat, Carmine. He's the one in my profile photo. I also love mint chocolate chip and chocolate chip cookie dough, but when I have those, poor Carmine doesn't get any.

Most people are still working from home because the pandemic is far from over, especially with the new variant. Some companies are allowing employees to return to the workplace, but this is very limited. What are your thoughts on working from home? Some people prefer it; however, others find it unhealthy physically and mentally.
While we know what's helpful and what isn't, it's not always easy to do the right thing, especially when you're not in total control of your thoughts. These days, I've been wondering how to deal with the negative thinking and the doubts I have about the people in my life. I hope it's that easy to trust and relax, but it doesn't seem to be the case. Have you had moments like these?

I don't know about you guys and gals, but I think we can do better than Trump. Washington needs new blood, that's for sure, but why do we keep tolerating a non-conformist on his level? There are more intelligent options, I believe.

Whether it's cross-country or to and from the store, do you have a favorite driving route? In California, there's a curvy stretch of northbound I-280, north of Palo Alto, where you drive between towering green hills on the right and Crystal Springs reservoir on the left. Sometimes there's fog above it all. I love it!

What is your most fervent hope or wish for the new year ahead of us? It can be something for yourself, for your family, or for life in general. For instance, I hope to find peace after losing some key loved ones in 2022. I've been through this before, so I know that the grief gets better with time. Additionally, I wish to treasure the good things in life that are right in front me, but that I often overlook in the busyness of life. So, I'm going to practice daily gratitude to help with that. I'm also hopeful that Russia will stop attacking Ukraine in the coming year. That is my biggest wish of all. I just want peace.

I have to say that I am totally discouraged right now. I am an avid beach lover and I have taken many beach vacations. I have spent the last two days looking for hotels on numerous beaches. I have used real estate companies, direct hotel websites, discount websites and vrbo. The prices right now are crazy high! I get that hotels need to make up for the lack of travel last year, but come on. Anyone else running into this?

I just finished the Cobra Kai series on Netflix. It's a continuation of The Karate Kid, 34 years later. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka are back as enemies Daniel LaRusso (now married with kids) and Johnny Lawrence (not married, and it's complicated). I loved it so much!

It's fun being able to speak many languages for different purposes. I always get amazed by multilingual people because they don't have to rely on translation apps, which aren't that reliable too. I've tried learning Korean as a hobby and made progress but there's still a lot to study. What language(s) would you like to learn for any reason?

I've read articles saying that having a fixed routine will help you start your day better. Doing a few stretches here and there would help with blood circulation, so I've considered doing that right after waking up. Although I'm still working on my sleeping schedule, washing my face and drinking water is the best part of my routine. How would you describe your mornings?

What are your go-to caffeinated drinks, hot or cold? I love coffee with milk (dairy or oat) plus a sprinkle of cinnamon. I also love strong black tea with a good splash of milk but no sugar. In the summer, I switch to ice coffee.

Share something unique or cool about yourself. For instance, I'm a lion tamer - well, sort of. I was bored to death while staying at home during the height of the pandemic, so I taught a tiger (orange tabby), a lion (floofy tortoiseshell), and a panther (black cat) to do circus tricks. Our act was the entertainment during work Zoom breaks and the highlight of the day. I'm happy to be back in the office, but I do miss all those extra cuddles.

	Let's hear something about you.

I can remember as a child going to my grandparents house and laughing (internally) when they tried to teach me about birds. Now when I think back to those days, I kick myself. I'm lucky enough that my mom listened to them and gained a lot of knowledge. I've been trying to learn more about the birds in our area.

I love watching them and seeing how they interact with each other. I've put out many different types of feeders and different types of birdseed (worms, suet, seeds). I've even named a few of the "regulars".

Anyone else share interest in my newfound hobby?
