The power of Perspective

Perspective is important.  To elaborate the ability to see situations from the perspective of other people is important.  It is difficult.  To do so one must reserve judgment and expect nothing from others.  I have a friend who changed his life in 21 days due to his shift in perspective.  He used to be bitter, isolated and unhappy.  He blamed others for the failures in his life.  He eventually realized that all of his problems were of his own creation.  When he realized this his life changed drastically.  He quit bad habits such as cigarettes and another more potent problem.  He went out and found a job almost immediately.  He is spontaneous instead of isolated.  All of this, according to him, was due to his change of perspective.  Perspective is power.

We are really a product of our own perceptions. A person's view is influenced by the way he/she perceives a situation, and the best way to make some one understand your point is to try to explain to them and change their perspectives towards certain things, or you are never going to convince them. At the same time, it is paramount that we learn to accept new ways of viewing situations especially if our previous views are obsolete and would do us no good.

The power of perspective in someones life is strong to say the least.  Our outlook and thoughts that form our determine decisions, behaviors and relationships.  Being aware of perspective and how it helps or hurts can be a very powerful tool to improving many aspects of life.

Ben Carson took a lot of criticism for saying that poverty is a state of mind.  I understood what he meant having grown up poor.  If you let yourself feel like a victim who will never succeed in life, you will achieve just that.  People who are able to change their circumstances are able to think bigger than today and what is.  They are able to think what can be.
