What text editor do you use?

With so many options, I would like to get opinions on various text editors and what you use them for.  I realize that mileage may vary across different operating systems, so please include which OS you are using as well. 

For myself, I use Windows 10 primarily and have recently started using the Atom Text Editor.  I use it mainly for programming in various languages.  While I find its focus on a modular open source design very powerful for writing code, I am trying to find a good text editor for smaller and more generic tasks.  The ideal candidate would still have powerful features to find and replace text.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback and advice on your favorite text editors and what features make them your favorite.
