AtMyKeyboard
Because flying from Point A to Point can be much easier than driving when your family is large, it is becoming more common to do so, especially since flying has become cheaper in some locations. However, getting on the plane and being on the plane are two entirely different things. When someone speaks or thinks about flying instead of driving, they often don't include the hassle of the airport itself. From checking-in to locating, and arriving at, your gate, and everything in between, it might not seem like it's worth the stress. Dealing with your own family in a vehicle is stressful, but you can also pull over whenever you want or need to. Airport security is not as easy to maneuver, though. One major way to cope with all of the demands you'll find going through the airport is to call first and explain that you are a large group with children and ask what can they do to accommodate you. Make sure that you get the name of the person who will be expecting you, and will accompany you as much as possible. Explaining that this is the first time that many, or all, of the members of your group will be flying can help encourage them to find the staff needed to assist you. Quote Link to comment
