arachnophobik
Recently, the band Korn has officially sold around 190k copies of their latest album "The Serenity of Suffering" which was released last October. Metallica has also just reached platinum for their latest album, "Hardwired... to Self Destruct", which is around 1 million copies in total. Here's the thing, these are legends of their own times. Metallica was one of the biggest acts of the 80's and they were selling around a million copies within less than a month. Korn was also a very big band in the late 90's and would easily pass their current 9 month album sale within one week. The latest albums of both of these bands were received well by hardcore fans too, so how come they're selling a potion of what they used to? The biggest answer would probably because of our current technological advancements. Today, it's fairly easy to download music online and not get caught. Why would anyone pay for something they can get for free right? These days, free music is easily accessible, and if the biggest bands are suffering from album sales, just think of how the smaller bands who are trying to make it out there, think of what they're going through. I have nothing against those who want to download their music for free, but I do urge you to support your favorite artists to keep their business going, and to keep the industry alive as well. You're favorite artists have a done a lot for you, it's not so bad to give a little something back from time to time. Quote Link to comment
WordSpeak7
The music industry has taken a major low in my sight. I am more of a conscious music listener today so some of the artists that have came out I wouldn't DARE listen to. Because today is about HUMAN fleshly excitement/pleasure and not about uplifting the SOUL of self and your brother/sister, is the reason that negative trash lyrics will continue to be played and lyrics that EDUCATE TO BRING AWARENESS will ALWAYS be seen and regarded as foreign. What are your thoughts of support or opposition? Quote Link to comment
