Tabiro303
I must agree waking up to a rent hike is the worst nightmare. It leaves most people with the fear of not being able to afford their own apartments. But did you know your landlord is not allowed to increase your rent if he or she has not given you a written notice for not less than 30 days? Also, a landlord can not increase your rent if anything regarding a rent increase was not included in your tenant-landlord agreement. In case your rent has been increased without meeting this two requirements then you have the right to continue paying your normal rent and refuse to pay the increased rent. Do it confidently as there is a law that protects you from tenants rights violation. Quote Link to comment
