Grams 2 four
Valentine's Day, Easter, Independence Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas: these are among the most beloved of American holidays. Each get assigned a one-day designation, except for Christmas. Christmas gets a two-day designation with Christmas Eve. However, there is another coveted holiday not mentioned in the previous list. This holiday does not get a national recognition on the calendar, but it is a celebration none-the-less. This holiday is celebrated with as much passion and has as much money spent in its honor as any of the previously mentioned holidays. Perhaps it is not noted on the calendar because it is not a federally recognized holiday, but a holiday of the South. No event is more loved than COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON. The duration of this celebration runs from September through November. It is during these months that bank accounts are depleted, churches are emptied, friends become enemies, and families are divided. Perhaps the most impassioned of these celebrations is the IRON BOWL. This SEC game takes place between the two largest Alabama colleges- the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn Tigers. If one is from Alabama, they must pick a side or they will be considered an infidel. The time is drawing near for the 2017 celebrations to begin. For the Crimson Tide, the games begin on September 2 against the Florida State Seminoles, and for the Tigers they begin September 2 against the Georgia Southern Eagles. For the South-Eastern part of the nation, the holiday festivities will soon be underway. To quote our great holiday slogan: "ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!" Quote Link to comment
