femio
What is sin and who commits it? Is there a defining line between crime and sin? Why do societies make laws against crime and leave the reward for sin in the hands of an unseen deity? Please I need to know. Quote Link to comment
OctoberBreeze
Sin by definition means: offense against God. So, it relates strictly towards our relationship with Him and to His commandments. Crime relates to offenses between people, yet, a crime may be considered a sin since it goes against God's desire for our happiness. Anyone offending God commits sin, regardless if his/her actions relate to a crime. Quote Link to comment
Sherrie
A crime, by definition relates to the laws of the country that you live. These laws imposed by government, are by humans. A sin is committed against God, and his laws. Sin is described in the Bible, it is more than just the 10 commandments. Many of the rules described in the Bible are for Jewish faith, and some are for all others. This is why God sent Jesus, we are unable to keep his commandments, and are not pure for heaven. Many of our laws are commandments, but are not the same. Quote Link to comment
