Laura Jean
Often we see that people are spending more time on their cell phone or computer. I haven't really decided how good or bad this can be. But do acknowledge that it can be harmful for younger people, because they do not get the person to person interaction that people need in social environments. I find that limiting the time no matter what you age is a beneficial thing to life, liberty and happiness. What do you think? Quote Link to comment
Talik
I totally agree with you, Laura Jean. The truth is that all of us could benefit from disconnecting, even if only for a little while. Unfortunately for most, work and family commitments make that next to impossible to achieve. Personally, I can't imagine a day without either my laptop or my phone as I do everything from work to shopping online. Quote Link to comment
Metaliberty
I think that our bodies sense when we have spent too much time using such technology. You eventually reach a breaking point where you feel sick of how much time you've spent in front of a screen. Earlier this year, I experimented with limiting my use of technology for several months. One month included completely avoiding the use of cell phone and computer. It was very challenging, but I made it. I am really glad I ran this experiment on myself. Quote Link to comment
SarahS2017
While I agree that we need more time away from our phones and cell phones, to get more face-to-face interaction with our loved ones, doing so has become harder to do in recent years. It seems that we have to rely on our devices more often because more companies are making it more difficult for us to take the time to disconnect from technology and getting personable with our families and neighbors. However, taking a break from technology a few days per week can help us discover that there is more to life than playing Candy Crush for hours on end and having a ton of fun while doing so.
