Anne
Is the tendency to have raised cholesterol levels genetic? As a vegetarian for over 40 years, a non-smoker who has never been overweight I was shocked to learn that my levels are above normal. I walk and/or cycle every day, drink alcohol in moderation and am healthy. By coincidence, my brother got similar results. His lifestyle is different to mine. For example, he eats meat and has a sweet tooth. But he's fit, active and healthy. Neither of us wants to take Statins but there are no profound lifestyle changes we can make to change our levels. Could it be genetic? Quote Link to comment
