Space_Lion
I wish I had remembered to cite whoever made that YouTube comment about Wallace & Gromit. It's important to cite sources with everything. There are some aspects of American Copyright law I don't agree with, but at least giving credit where credit is due should always be something everyone strives for. The one problem is when it kills the humor. The main time I, or any otherwise honest, credit-giving person trips up with this is always when copying or referencing someone else's joke. There can often be no non-awkward way to fit that citation in with the comedic timing. How do we balance humor with citation in a way that still captures and retains the same audience, an audience that most likely cares much more about the joke than the credit? A question for the ages. I guess footnotes would work pretty well if it was written humor, actually. Quote Link to comment
