franco3113
I have a friend who's always telling me I overthink everything. I honestly don't think that's the case. I simply employ common-sense thinking (look before you leap, etc.). If I overthought everything, I never would've gotten my driver's license (which I got in high school). Driving is probably one of the things where, if you're an over-thinker, you're probably not going to succeed. Quote Link to comment
ydmac
I tend to overthink most decisions. I weigh the pros and cons and nearly every decision. Overthinking has caused me to not take needed risks in life. I grew up with parents that often told me to be responsible and make good choices. Never once did I hear "take a leap." Of course, telling a young person to take a leap could be dangerous (a little humor). As I'm growing wiser, I have come to realize, taking risks with less thought can be productive. samanthaalleah
I overthink too, and I think that's a good thing. By doing that, you will have the chance to see every sides and angles of the situation, and you will be able to think the way other might think, feel what they might feel, before acting upon it or drawing your final decision. By overthinking, you'll be able to see the future happenings and you might be able to avoid things that should be avoided to prevent any accidents. You'll be able to tell what this person will do next, and use that to your advantage. But no matter what situation you're in, always remember that too much is a bad, bad thing. Overthinking alone can take you to the top of the hill, but overthinking too much might just bring you downhill once again, and you missed the chance to relish the fresh air at the top.
