TravelBug
A couple of years ago I wrote my Bachelor's thesis on employee engagement and the effect on productivity. Part of my findings were that flexible working (time and place) make employees happier because they have a better work-life balance. Not everyone is productive at the same times of the day. Me, I love working at seven in the morning, but I could never continue until five in the afternoon. Ever since I started working from home and at my own times, I have definitely noticed a major change in my daily mood and stress level: it has gone down a lot. Does anyone else think that flex working is the way to go? Quote Link to comment
julianne
Of course everyone would love to have the opportunity to work at the time and place they prefer. And when they do get that chance, their mood will improve which would ultimately cause their health to improve. To most people Flex working would be a dream come true. Most people don't work flexibly because they don't have the freedom to do that. Also not everyone can handle flex working and it come with a major disadvantage that would affect some people. MrsFlit
As someone who has had the opportunity to work from home for over five years, I can attest that it has indeed been a positive experience with countless benefits. From affording me the opportunity to homeschool my children to saving me money on gas- I don’t think I would be able to go back to working in a tradition office setting. Quote Link to comment
