emily1997
As we all know, social media has become a massive part of our daily lives. However, should there be a limit to the extent social media influences us? Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat provide instant ways to interact and stay in touch with friends but can these apps have a negative affect on us? Quote Link to comment
Bethanyrcwright
This all depends on how you use social media. Do you use it as a primary way to talk to friends and family that live far away? Do you use it because you like the attention of strangers? Do you use it for business purposes? Spending an exorbitant amount of time doing any one thing is unhealthy. That’s why it’s good to evaluate your reasons if you’re spending 8 hours a day on Twitter versus spending an hour video chatting with grandma. Quote Link to comment
cofarasu
I do not know what to say . I do not think it would have a negative effect on us as long as we know how to control the time spent on these networks. the most important thing is that family and friends are ahead of these social networks Quote Link to comment
myraf99
Social media has both positive and negative effects on us but all depend upon the way you use it. If you are using it for business, you must have a specific time you have to be on it and if for family issues you must also set a time for it.But most of the school children especially those at the junior high and senior high schools have devoted their time to it to extend that they do not have time for their studies and it will go a long way to have negative effects on them. jpk0007
Social media has become one of the most effective ways of communicating and also knowing about the current news and trends throughout the World. Social media has changed the rules of all kinds of social engagements in the world. The mainstream media is getting left out slowly but surely and losing its importance due to all the social media platforms. Social media is also becoming one of the most effective ways to market products and services all throughout the World. Social media can be abused and misused like any other service or product. I think if children are getting addicted to Social Media then it is the responsibility of there parents to help them in this regard and limit the use. However, I don't think that we can completely keep the children away from social media as it is the most effective way of socializing and interacting with friends and colleagues in the twenty-first century. I think that the phenomenon of Social Media should be accepted by all and must be used fully to our advantage. Quote Link to comment
Jpoole70
I know for myself I go through periods in my life in which I spend much more time on social media sites than others. I think this has mainly been due to my state of mind. It is necessary for me to use the internet to a certain extent for my work, but if I find that I have just watched three hours of kitten videos then I know it is time to refocus. If I am binging on youtube and facebook videos of no real substance then I know I need get out of my head. Shut off for a while and go use my other senses doing other activities.
