I Love Meat

I have been athletic all my life, but have lately seen a bit of a roll around my stomach.  I decided to start eating zero carbohydrates, and for the past three weeks have eaten only meat, butter and eggs.  I do not count calories, just eat until I am full.  Eggs, burgers, a New York strip, as long as it's not from the plant family I eat it.  Weight is coming off, and I just feel great.

That's really cool! I also eat zero carbohydrates, also referred to as the ketogenic diet. This diet relies on the fact that your body changes its main energy source to fat. And in fact, this has proven to be very effective in weight-loss and also for athletics. However, this can be a pain the first couple of days, because a lot of people get the "keto-flu", which makes you feel very sick due to the fact that your body isn't producing enough glucose, and this can cause a lot of shaking, and differences in blood pressure. Overall, when you're past this stage, it makes you feel a lot better and happier, and I can say this from experience.

Although the health gurus tell us that man is not by nature carnivorous, who can resist the temptation that bacon brings? Just the other day, I just went inside a meat shop that sells sandwiches that are relatively pricey. I ordered a bacon sandwich, loaded with tomatoes and some leafy veggies, and devoured the whole thing in less than 10 minutes. I yielded to the temptation but tried to make up for my transgression later during the day by walking some 30 minutes non-stop.
