Water fasting

Does anyone have any experience with fasting with water? I heard that there are people that are able to go without food for more than 40 days and only drink water.I imagine one would have to have quite a free schedule,no going to work,no children that want you to take them to the park and things like that,no dogs to walk, nothing that requires much physical effort, really. Just wondering how that works...

It seems that you really have no prior knowledge to what goes into fasting. It is an extremely religious practice that has been going on hundreds and hundreds of years. With that being said I don't think it would be a practice that a person does yearly and be able to continue through generations without them having children. Seems most people today are stuck on there gadgets and fixed schedules that they couldn't imagine the inconvenience of fasting for 4 days let alone 40.

Okay, let me tell you something about water fasting; it is extremely dangerous. While the odds of you having an underlying heart condition (which if you had, could cause you to die immediately) are quite slim, it has no actual scientific benefit. You might lose a lot of weight, but you will first lose your muscle. Meaning, that you won't look like a fitness model after it. You will look like someone who has starved, and I think we can both agree on the fact that that is not a healthy look.

If you really need to lose weight, check out the ketogenic diet. I have no experience with it, and I would recommend consulting a dietician prior to doing it, but it sure beats water fasting.
