Viking
Love is free. Right? In a sense, perhaps, but, there are unspoken conditions and/or promises that come with love. The love of a spouse comes with the vows of richer or poorer, sickness and in health, and for better or worse. That worse may be as simple as constantly leaving wet towels on the floor or it may mean dealing with an all consuming addiction. The love of a child, perhaps the purest of loves, may mean many sleepless nights due to a stomach virus or being late for a curfew. The love for a parent evolves from the childlike worship to seeing them for what they are, flawed humans just doing their best. The ultimate price of love is pain. The pain of watching a loved one suffer and being able to do anything. The pain of the final goodbye when they or you leave this world. Knowing that there is a price to love, is it worth it?
