AmaraJosephine
Growing up I had a father who was very humorous, everyone loved his gregarious personality, including his own children! In his later years he suffered from some really awful strokes, hitting him dead center of the part of your brain that has your cognitive abilities. He would call a purse a lamp, he would wear a watch that didn't work, always set at 10:30, and everytime he looked at it, he would say out loud that it was 10:30. So, one fine day I took my father to the grocery store. I decided it would be ok to split up a little, give him some freedom, his own cart, and of course I continually followed him far back, for fear of something happening. Everything seemed to be going ok, he had a few items in his cart which were on his list, I thought, good, good, this is good. We are ok. As we approacheed the cashier, we were behind an elderly couple. The wife was yelling at the husband, telling him that they didn't need this or that in the cart and what was he thinking putting all these silly things in the cart! I peeked out of the corner of my eye, to see my father smirking, it was then, I knew it was he putting stuff in their cart. He wasn't so off after all!!!!! Missing you Dad!!! Quote Link to comment
