Friends

I once used the phrase friends can fill your head but only you can fill your heart. Many times, in life we listen to the advice of others at the wrong time. There are also times when we don’t listen at all then kick ourselves for not listen especially it the advice given was spot on.  However, in saying all of that there will be instances where only you can follow your heart and do what’s best for you.

I used to be friendly and has many friends when I was in elementary. But after I entered high school, my circle of friends was getting smaller up until now. The lesson I learned through the years while growing up is that having many friends is good, but while growing up, you should choose your friends wisely. Friends have the power to influence you. I believe in the saying, "Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are." So you should carefully choose your friends while growing up.

I recently realized that for entirely too long I allowed others’ feelings, opinions, and objections to weigh much too heavily on decisions I made - which honestly didn’t affect them in any way. I cared so much about how my life looked to others that I lost sight of making sure it felt right to me.

I now do what I feel is best for me regardless of what it looks like to anyone else. It's such a freeing experience.
