robbb
A question for people who watch anime, K-dramas, and other media in foreign languages: do you use subtitles or dubbed audio? I've tried both when watching anime. I find subtitles better, simply because the original Japanese voice actors complete the experience, but when I want to multitask while watching, I use the english dubbed version. TheSpruceMoose
It kind of depends, for me. All things considered, I would really prefer dubbing (unless I'm trying to learn the language in question) because reading a movie I'm trying to watch while I'm watching it kind of sucks. Plus, subtitles have a tendency of moving too fast for me to read everything. On the other hand, the actors they pick for dubbing are, usually, so horrible that the movie gets ruined and sometimes subtitles are at just the right speed. Something I do enjoy doing, though, is watching a foreign film without dubbing or subtitles. It doesn't work with all movies, but some are so animated that you can figure out what's going on most of the time even when you don't speak the language. It's kind of like watching a silent film.
