I have just bought anew car and need advice. I used to bring my previous car to a mechanic I knew for servicing and check-ups. As I was selling the car, I realized the guy was not doing the checks he said he was, even though he was charging me slightly above market rates.

I want to do things right with this new car and was wondering if any of you have tips on how to pick a great mechanic.
