The late designer Karl Lagerfeld said, "Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life so you bought some sweatpants." It's kind of amusing, but it’s not the nicest thing to say!

When I'm lazy to brew, I go for instant coffee with cream but black coffee is my other option. I also like teas with some Yakult or Lemon in them, especially after a workout or just early in the morning.

Words are helpful as much as it is deadly because there have been times when a single thought made my day and also ruined it. During unmotivated days, scrolling through my newsfeed helped inspired me at some point because of the quotes that I would come across. Some quotes gave me realizations, while others reminded me of my principles whenever I would doubt the meaning in my work. What quotes do you find helpful for yourself?

I prefer to work in silence. I'm much more productive that way. I can tolerate it if someone else wants to blast their music or an audiobook and it bleeds into my office, but silence is golden in my opinion.

I can remember as a child going to my grandparents house and laughing (internally) when they tried to teach me about birds. Now when I think back to those days, I kick myself. I'm lucky enough that my mom listened to them and gained a lot of knowledge. I've been trying to learn more about the birds in our area. I love watching them and seeing how they interact with each other. I've put out many different types of feeders and different types of birdseed (worms, suet, seeds). I've even named a few of the "regulars". Anyone else share interest in my newfound hobby?

We're pretty similar in our tastes! I like black tea, with oat milk and honey. Lately, I've also been enjoying ginger and turmeric lattes! I'll enjoy coffee on occasion, but not as a daily beverage.

I've been trying to lose weight too! It's pretty frustrating when you're working hard to drop the pounds, but then nothing happens. I've found that small daily goals help. I also avoid weighing myself. It might not make sense, but I find that focusing on overall health, instead of a number on a scale, is more encouraging.

I have to be honest, I have already started to decorate. I have also been listening to Christmas music since November 1st. I went on a weekend shopping trip with friends last weekend and have another planned for next weekend. Yes, it's early but who doesn't need it with all the craziness of the world!

My sister said she wants to put up her Christmas trees (she has two), but her husband says it's too early. LOL! I don't have a tree here. I used to have one but had to get rid of it. I know that Carmine would leave a tree alone because he never bothered it when I had one, but I'm 99% sure Tylan would either try to climb up it or bat the ornaments off. I'd like to find a small tree that I could put on my counter or something. That way, if he messes with it, it won't make such a big mess.

I just finished watching Cobra Kai too. I loved it. I heard it was renewed so that made me happy. At first I didn't believe it was really Ralph Macchio. I just imagined him taller! Right now we are watching Fear the Walking Dead. I have already watched all of The Walking Dead. I am not enjoying this new one as much.

You are so sweet, @SableC., for thinking about Carmine His last appointment was in May, believe it or not! It's nothing short of a minor miracle that we haven't been to the vet in the past three months with all the boys' special needs. Both boys go back August 5th. Carmine will get another glucose test to make sure he is still in remission. I'm a bit nervous because he's been spending a lot more time around his water fountain lately. It's also been insanely hot here, though, so I'm hoping he's just extra thirsty from the heat and that his diabetes isn't back (increased thirst is one sign of diabetes). Both boys will get checkups and their nails clipped while we're there, too. It's funny, Carmine is as quiet as a mouse on car trips, but Tylan yells at the top of his lungs, the entire way. What's your kitty's name, Sable? I hope you and your kitty are staying cool. I don't know what it's like where you are, but it has just been so hot here the past couple of weeks.

Failure. From birth, it's treated as a terrible, taboo thing. Something to be kept at arms length. No one wants to be labeled as one, and nobody wants to associate themselves with one. Everyone's failed once, and everyone's experienced that awful sinking feeling in the pit of their stomach. But... what if we turned that around? Instead of avoiding it like a plague, why don't we treat it as motivation? As fuel for the fire we each hold? Accept that you'll fail once in a while, and try again. Accept that you need to learn in order to grow.

Your spouse or significant other (SO) should always be more important than outside friends. Your SO is the person who will be with you for a lifetime if you two can maintain a passionate and happy relationship. They are the person who will give you support and care when you need it. I’ve read that the rule of thumb is a couple should spend about 15 hours a week together in quality time, just the two of them. After that, it’s ok to spend time with your friends.

I think that the truly great personalities of this world are not those who do not fail; they are those who are not afraid to stand back up when they fall down. I think that in order to feel real, deep happiness and satisfaction, you need to fail and learn from those failures. The lows of life make the highs all the sweeter.
