It just goes to show you what people are capable of (both morally and technically). He's had to go to some trouble to protect his financial credentials, like joining Credit Karma and freezing his credit on all three of the major credit reporting sites. Kind of a hassle, but what else can you do? At least when the free year of protection from Equifax is over, we'll be protected from these thieves opening something on my husband's credit or Social Security number.
