Searching for Reliable Sources Online

Do you need answers from an expert?  No problem, online research doesn't have to be difficult.

There is a simple way to ensure you receive results from the top authorities:

Limit your results to .edu, .gov, and .org domains

Surely, it will change how you do online research.

Although each database has its own syntax, there are few differences and many overlaps. For example, if you need a list of conjunctive adverbs, enter:

  • list of conjunctive adverbs site:.edu

And to find out about the law for wearing seat belts in Florida, enter:

  • seat belt law in Florida site:.gov

In brief, the domain can be as specific as needed, but this simple addition will ensure that search results are from reliable sources.
