kjanderson
I am a teacher at both a university and a middle school, and there are some days when I just feel like I will lose my mind at any point. The university students are generally well behaved, but the middle school kids are always off the wall! It is so hard to get them to concentrate and I feel like they do not respect me as a teacher. I don't want to be mean to them, but I am tired of being treated like a push over! Any tips? Quote Link to comment
Anze
Hey kjanderson, my cousin is also a middle school teacher and she is experiencing the same problems as you mentioned. Well, something seems to got wrong during last 10-20 years regarding parenthood. I think it is an political issue. We praised the word "Free Will" way to much. Or we just misused it. Fisher316
I have taught elementary school for a year now and I totally understand what you are saying and how you feel as well.ChildrenĀ can get out of control most of the times thus giving you the teacher a very hard time. The only adviceĀ I can only give you as a fellow teacher is to really try to maintain your composure anytime they get out of control because you might end up punishing them severely which might really get you into trouble as a teacher.I prefer to use intimidation in order to instil discipline on them since children can easily be intimidated and change their behaviour.I hope this advice will help you.
